The Air Motion Transformer (AMT). As opposed to common voice coil, planar, or electrostatic designs, the AMT is based on a super-light Kapton diaphragm. It consists of multiple folds of variable shapes, which squeeze the air in and out, causing it to accelerate by a factor of roughly 3.
The result as an open, hyper-detailed and realistic representation of the original signal.
30 years ago HEDD founder Klaus Heinz designed the first compact and marketable AMT tweeter based on American-German Physicist Oskar Heil’s original Air Motion Transformer invention. Since then, Heinz has increased its sonic quality in several fundamental revisions for his loudspeaker tweeter designs at ADAM Audio and HEDD.
'In 2019 Heinz has started developing a full range Air Motion Transformer to break new grounds for this superior transducer principle.
