According to Mapex, the chamfers are the requested and loved SONIClear variant so that the drum head fits the drum better & makes it more easily tuned & controlled. The tuning hoops are Sonic Saver Hoops which have an inwardly curved edge for a pleasant rimshot, for additional control so the drum is both easier to tune & keeps the tuning longer and extends the life of your drumsticks.
