Humidipak Maintain - Automatic Humidity Control System. Dry air is an acoustic instrument's worst enemy. The D'Addario Automatic Humidity Control System is a maintenance-free humidity control system for acoustic guitars. It is a two-way system that both emits and absorbs moisture and thus maintains a constant air humidity of 45-50%. You don't have to think about the changes of the seasons, temperatures or geographical factors. Once you open a bag, it lasts 2-6 months, depending on the natural humidity. Comes with three packages of Maintain as well as two fine mesh soft cases in which the two-way system is placed. One case, in turn, is placed in the sound hole, hanging over the D and G strings. The second case is intended to be placed with the head of the guitar. Always store the guitar with the two-way system in the case when not in use. It feels the best about it. Note: Humidipak Maintain (PW-HPK-01) is designed to maintain and preserve the humidity level of the instrument. This product is not intended for dehumidification in an environment with naturally high humidity. If your instrument has not previously been exposed to humid air or is in a dry environment, it is recommended to use Humidipak Restore (PW-HPK-03) for a period to restore the appropriate humidity level to your instrument before switching to Humidipak Maintain. If you use Humidipak Maintain on already dry instruments, you get a significantly shorter service life of the packages.
