To capture the classic plexi sounds, we sought out prime examples — a '68 Super Lead and a '69 Super Bass — each in original condition with laydown transformers. For the "Brown" amp, they used a Variac to drop the wall current to 90 volts and re-biased the amp extra hot, giving you the authentic sonic feel of the most famous hot-rowed sound ever recorded.
