AX I/O from IK multimedia is a high-end USB sound card, packed with powerful functions and connections for guitar and bass. On the front panel there is an Amp output for easy re-amping without the need for an external direct box. There is also a 1/4″ jack return for the ability to connect external effects, and a built-in tuner makes it easy to tune the guitar. The PRESET control button can change settings in Amplitube 4 and other plug-ins with freely assignable CCs (MIDI Control Change). There are also 2 inputs for expression pedals or single/switches for real-time control of virtual guitar rigs.
On the front panel there is also an instrument input with Triple-topology Z-Tone preamp for guitar and bass. Here you can choose different variants depending on the instrument and desired sound:
- The “PURE” circuit delivers completely transparent and ultra-precise sound with 117 dB (A) dynamic range.
- “JFET” adds a subtle harmonic enhancement for a rounder and warmer sound, without losing any of the dynamic range
- “ACTIVE” disables all unnecessary functions to deliver full transparent sound when using active pickups
- Patented Z-Tone variable impedance Hi-Z input reshapes instrument sounds from Sharp to Bold or impedance matching for a virtual amp/effects modeling
AX I/O comes with a complete guitar recording studio with mix and mastering software for guitar and bass worth over $ / €1000, including Amplitube 4 Deluxe with over 140 ultra-realistic models of iconic guitar amps, cabinets and effects. 10 T-Racks Singles for mixing instruments with EQ, compressors, reverb, delays, mic modeling etc. and Ableton Live 10 Lite recording software.
