The retro channels
Take control of your sound

Retro channels one and two have two unique variable harmonic controls (COLOR controls) per channel - HMX & IRON. HMX & IRON are designed to emulate sounds often associated with 1960s tube designs and transformer – the “zing sound” – of 1970s British audio. HMX & IRON will add a new dimension to your sound by providing warm sparkling tones. You can combine them to get both warmth and clarity.

We know that many sound engineers love the sound of tube technology and if you are one of them, you will love the HMX. Go back in time with the ASP800's own tailored Harmonic distortion control. Similar to vintage amps from the 1960s, the HMX delivers a smooth and thick tone that sounds amazing on everything from drums to electric guitars. (HINT! Try bass synth, or 808 too!)

Say hello to Audient's new British Transformer Saturator - IRON. In a new innovation, IRON uses a custom British MOSFET transformer designed to recreate the sparkling sound of 1970s recordings.

The HMX technology
Using discrete MOSFET technology, the HMX produces asymmetrical harmonic distortion, giving you the ability to add richness and body to the clean sound of Audient's mic preamps, DI or line input. Take control of your sound with 1960s MOSFET technology.

The IRON technology
With a control that varies impedance, bass response, high frequency attenuation, phase shift, magnetic saturation and transient shaping, IRON can add sparkle, growl and so much more with the simple twist of a knob. It sounds great on snare drum, bass, acoustic guitar and anything that needs a little extra bite.
