It is as beautiful as it is cruel! The Armory Tomahawk has a 1mm steel body in a super nice black plated finish with a tuning body, trigger mechanism & rims in chrome. The pressed 2.3mm edges give a good clip in the snare drum & a natural sound with fantastic dynamics & an incredible winning response. The steel body gives a clear swirling sound with typical steel character filled with lovely overtones & a distinct touch with brutal body. This means you get a clear swirl sound that doesn't mix with the other drums in the drum set.
A snare drum should sound like a snare drum & a Tomahawk really does! Even though this is a drum with an incredibly nice price tag, Mapex has in no way skimped on the quality, but the Tomahawk has an incredibly high class frame, tuning body, sides & mechanics.
