Snare drum with solid maple body, 14"x 6" Tama Star has been developed for connoisseurs with a sense for quality and the unique tonal possibilities that these drums make possible. Solid Maple has a beautiful 8mm body of one piece of solid Curly Maple in a natural oil finish plus an 8mm Sound Focus Ring.
The manufacturing procedure is advanced and the craftsmanship is of the absolute highest class. The classic solid maple body has rounded chamfers that make the Star drums easy to tune and that the skin has optimal contact with the body for good playing feel and sound.
Solid Maple has a full sound with good bottom and it thrives in a variety of tuning positions as it has good resonance for dynamic playing yet stability for low register and tuning positions. The molded edges focus the sound and give power to the edge hits.
The sejar mechanism, Linear-Drive MLS50A/MLS50B allows you to discreetly put the Super Sensitive sejar mat on and off.
