Reworked and upgraded version of the iconic Super Swede model.
The Super Swede model was initially called the Swede Deluxe, it was only after a test in an English guitar magazine that the classic model got a new name. The writer declared that this was not a Swede Deluxe, it was a Super Swede
The foundation of the Super Swede's unique tone is the combination of a 25.5" scale and mahogany body matched with a maple top. This generation of the Super Swede keeps that tradition alive. In the process of developing the next generation of the Super Swede, the goal of Hagstrom's design team was to develop the instrument without compromising on the soul, the heart and the appearance of the instrument. The body is made of mahogany and is enriched in terms of sound with a maple top.
To bring out the full spectrum of this beauty, Hagstrom turned to Lundgren Pickups to find the optimal humbucker pickups for the Super Swede. Based on Lundgren's suggestion, the choice fell on Lundgren Pickps Alnico No2 in the neck position and No5 at the saddle. Lundgren AlNiCo humbuckers are split-only, which gives additional opportunities to squeeze the entire register out of this guitar regardless of the occasion. To make it easier to reach the highest notes, Hagstrom has used a new design for the neck attachment. The new Hagstrom mechanics have the classic look but are lockable to help keep the mood better. Guitars have been designed the same way for many years, Hagstrom's Design Team was not happy with that. Therefore, there is now a volute reinforcement where the head meets the neck to strengthen this particular sensitive area.
