At the end of the 60s, Hagström launched its 8-string bass and was the first in the world to mass-produce one.
It didn't take long before Noel Redding who played bass with Jimi Hendrix discovered it and uses it on, among other things, "Axis: Bold as Love", listen especially to the song "Spanish Castle Magic" where the H8 really comes into its own. In fact, even Jimi Hendrix himself loved the model and used it at various events for several years. He owned the sixth example produced! Even Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead could occasionally be seen playing on an H8.
Thanks to Hagström's drawbar H-Expander, the neck is flexible, stable and easy to play.
An incredibly cool and different bass with an absolutely brutal sound!
