DarkRay has all the standard features of StingRay Special, but here they have taken the step further and made a collaboration with world-renowned DarkGlass. DarkRay opens up a completely new range of sound possibilities as DarkGlass developed a completely new 2-band preamp unique to DarkRay.
This preamp has three different choices:
- Clean
- Alpha (Dist)
- Omega (Fuzz)
The two distortion modes are fully mixable thanks to a gain and a blend knob. Go from a shimmering clean sound, to a kinder dusty sound or to a brutal fuzz sound via the 3-position switch, a led ring on the volume control shows you which mode you have selected. A fantastically nice roasted maple neck treated with gun oil and wax that gives a very nice feel without feeling sticky like many varnished necks can do. 3-band active preamplifier at 18 volts for maximum headroom.
