This guitar has a NEX body with a solid spruce top & flamed maple sides/bottom. The neck is made of maple with an ebony fingerboard. Few things can beat the feel & sound of a really old recorded guitar. With a technique called "Thermal Aging", Takamine has taken advantage of this feeling by artificially aging the spruce top. The result is a guitar with an open & dynamic sound that responds to the slightest touch. In the guitar, Takamine's TLD-2 preamp is mounted directly on the output jack, which provides a neat solution without having to make a hole in the guitar for it. Of course, it is delivered in a substantial hard case, ready for a life on the road.
