In most DI boxes, big compromises are made with your sound. Low distortion often leads to increased input noise, and in the pursuit of effective ground isolation, large phase problems and unwanted signal attenuation are often created. The Type 10 is designed with a radically new approach. It features analog circuitry that adapts to your sound to deliver a signal with the lowest distortion, lowest noise and highest sound quality of any DI box. This over the entire frequency band. The result is a clean and precise sound, completely consistent with the original.
Like the Type 85, the Type 10 is designed to withstand the toughest treatment. A molded core with the electronics is packaged in an extra thick aluminum casing. Contacts and switches are recessed and protected. The electronics are just as tough. Both the Type 85 and Type 10 boxes can withstand static spikes and survive even if the input is accidentally connected directly to 220V voltage. Type 10 also has some new features, e.g. the battery voltage can be checked and the phantom power can also be monitored.
