The RG8EX is an 8-string model in the Ibanez Standard series. A guitar that works for far more than just low riffs that make your pants flutter.
The guitar has a 5-piece Wizard II-8 neck made of maple and walnut. The neck is a 685.8mm/27" scale, long enough for the low notes to be firm and stable but not so long that it feels like playing bass. The body is made of meranti (mahogany) and the smooth frequency response also makes it very suitable for distorted sounds, it glues the sound together nicely without it being either scattered or indistinct.
