This is the classic among Ibanez semi-acoustic guitars. A full-blooded semi-hollow guitar for professionals or someone who just wants a really good instrument. This was the basis for John Scofield's signature model, the JSM100.
The AS2000 is a semi hollow-body guitar, through middle stock, just as you would expect from a good 335th piece guitar. This makes the guitar very insensitive to feedback/looping even at very high volume. A guitar that works well, whether you play it clean or heavily distorted and everything in between.
The body is built of figured Anigre in both the lid, sides and bottom, a wood that is both well-sounding and beautiful.
The neck is a 3-piece set-in (glued) mahogany/S-tech Roasted neck with a bound ebony fingerboard with classic Pearl and Abalone block inlays, a beautiful traditional look combined with maximum sound characteristics. Medium frets with Prestige Fret Edge Treatment.
The pickups are Ibanez Super 58. These combine a soft and nuanced tone with an ability to bite when needed. Works just as well for pure and traditional jazz sounds as for overdriven blues and rock sounds. Here combined with a Tri-Sound switch that allows the neck mic to be run in series*, split** or in parallel***.
